After going through their site, I fixed my mind to enroll in Colgate®’s Oral Care Recycling Program and buy a zero waste box. Colgate’s Oral Care Recycling Program is a company that focuses on collecting waste from dental hygiene products such as toothpaste and toothbrushes. Although I was waitlisted, becoming an active participant in the program only took me one week!
I also signed up for two other free programs, but I’m still on the waitlist. Being waitlisted is a normal part of being in any program that has to check your qualifications and make sure you are ready before they let you participate further. TerraCycle lets me know exactly how many locations there are participating, as well as what kind of waste had been collected so far and how much money was raised through my contribution alone! It’s nice knowing that while it may be tough waiting sometimes when at least I can see where we’re going with this project together.

I love this new idea from TerraCycle, where disposable plastic is turned into beautiful reusable items rather than ending up inside landfills. Pretty soon, we won’t have any need for those old cardboard moving boxes anymore. I am so excited that I found a new way to recycle my cans. This box is perfect for me because it’s small and fits in the space next to our fridge perfectly! The only downside was paying $58, but after seeing how easy this process is, I’m pleased about spending money on something worthwhile like recycling.
